Mamba time for Dodger Blue.
On the eighth anniversary of Kobe Bryant scoring 60 points in his final NBA game, the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday received some exclusive sneakers in the team's color scheme from the late Los Angeles Lakers star's Nike line, courtesy of Bryant's widow Vanessa.
"Nice. Alright. I'll make sure to wear these every day," Dodgers star Mookie Betts says in a video posted on the Dodgers' Instagram that shows several Dodgers players reacting as they are presented with the shoes.
"Are these the Dodger ones?" second baseman Gavin Lux says. "Oh, my God. Yo, I saw these on the internet the other day and I was like 'I need these.' These are so sick. Thank you, Vanessa. I love you."
On April 13, 2016, Bryant scored 60 points against the Utah Jazz in the last game of his career. Bryant, whose nickname was "Black Mamba," died in a helicopter crash at age 41 on Jan. 26, 2020.

The Dodgers, who beat the San Diego Padres 5-2 on Saturday night, posted a thank you message to Vanessa Bryant on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"The Kobe's. Thank you, Vanessa," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says in the video. "These are ridiculous. I'm going to rock these with Mamba pride."
